Camera scanning
The camera cannot read a vial label
Cryovial labels are unusually small, curved and often frosted. Do not warm a specimen solely to make the app scan it. Keep or return it to the cold-handling conditions required by the lab’s cryogenic SOP.
- If the lab’s approved handling procedure permits another scan attempt, keep the printed bars or code square to the camera.
- Use even light and keep other labeled vials outside the aiming frame.
- If it still will not read, type the printed value or use the lab’s validated hardware scanner.
