Spreadsheet import

The app did not recognize our column names

Your headings do not need to be renamed. CryoIndex asks you to map any heading it cannot identify automatically.

  1. Continue to the column-mapping screen.
  2. For each heading, select the CryoIndex field it represents or choose — not in this file —.
  3. Check the preview before importing; no inventory is written during mapping.
  4. Save a blank CryoIndex template if you want a reference for future files.

Required fields and recognized headings

Every file needs Cell type, Cane, Box and Position. Exact CryoIndex headings map directly; these common alternatives are also recognized but are shown for review before import.

  • Cell type: Cell line, Cell_Line, Line, Celltype, Cells or Type.
  • Cane: Cane number, Cane # or Rack.
  • Box: Box number, Box #, BoxID or Box ID.
  • Position: Pos, Well, Slot, Location, Coordinate or Cell.

Optional fields and recognized headings

  • Tank: Dewar, Freezer or Vessel.
  • Barcode: Bar code, Vial ID, Tube ID, Label, ID or Code.
  • Passage: Passage number, Passage no, Pass or P.
  • Date frozen: Frozen, Freeze date, Frozen on, Date or DOF.
  • Donor code: Donor, Donor ID, Patient or Patient ID.
  • Cell sex: Sex or Gender.
  • Cells per vial: Cell count, Count, Cells/vial or Cell number.
  • Viability: Viable, Percent viable or % viability.
  • Freeze medium: Medium, Freezing medium, Cryo medium or Cryoprotectant.
  • Lot or batch: Lot number, Batch, Batch number or Lot no.
  • Source: Origin, Supplier, Vendor, ATCC or Catalogue.
  • Mycoplasma: Myco, Mycoplasma test or Myco status.
  • Notes: Note, Comment, Comments, Remarks or Description.
  • Any active lab-named custom field appears under its exact current name; CryoIndex does not guess aliases for a field the lab named itself.
