Which scanner should we buy?

Look for a USB or Bluetooth scanner described as HID, keyboard wedge or keyboard emulation. CryoIndex does not require a proprietary scanner connection.

1. Choose a scanner that reads the barcode type already used on your vial labels.
2. For small curved labels, prefer a physical trigger and adjustable read-safety settings.
3. Before buying, confirm it can send raw or literal output with GS1/AI bracket formatting disabled. Not every model exposes that setting.
4. Configure it to send the printed value unchanged, followed by Enter.
5. Use Scanner check before storing real inventory.
